Hastings resident Eric E. Valentine, 48, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 22, at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene in Hastings with Pastor Krystal Kennard officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 21, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Eric was born on October 6, 1977, in Hastings, NE, to Thomas E. and Marsha K. (Harper) Valentine. He grew up with a strong sense of curiosity, compassion, and dedication—qualities that shaped the man he became.

Eric pursued his education at Milford Community College, where he earned his degree in electronics. His skills, work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit later led him to own and operate Valentine’s Carpet Care, a business he took great pride in and poured his heart into.

A man of faith and community, Eric was a member of Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene and formerly sang with The Chorus of the Plains, sharing his voice and love of music with others.

Eric will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and the steady warmth he brought to family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

 

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents; aunts and uncles; and sister, Pamela Valentine.
