KEARNEY, Neb. --

The Sip and Swirl Wine Bar opening its doors this week to enthusiasts of the beverage.

The owners, Nicole and Greg, moved to the area and were looking for something different for the social scene.

"There really isn't anything like it in Kearney," said manager, Morgan Osborn. "They wanted somewhere to come and drink wine."

Since they enjoy traveling and have experienced varietals from around the globe, they thought what better than to shorten the trip and give people a chance to taste the flavors of other nations for all levels of the palate.

"They are trying to push and expand Kearney's knowledge on wine, too, and allowing the community to try something different," said Osborn. "A lot of people maybe kind of stick to a sweeter wine or are a little bit scared to branch out. We're trying to bring a positive environment for wine lovers and also people who are new to wine."

From Chile to Argentina, France and Italy, there are around 25 different worldly wines on the menu as of now. Those options will likely grow over time.

If a malbec, Chianti, or chardonnay is not the right flavor for you, they have a few beers available.

The grand opening is set for this weekend.
