A Shelton volleyball state champion is our ESPN Tri-Cities Female Athlete of the Month for November.

Erin Gegg helped the Bulldogs to the program’s first state championship earlier in the month. Gegg, a junior, paced Shelton with 483 kills on the season with an impressive .350 hitting percentage. She also added a team-high 51 blocks and eight aces. Gegg’s kill total was the second-best number in Class D-2.

Gegg got steadily better throughout the state tournament. She tallied 14 kills in the quarterfinals, 19 in the semifinals and 24 kills in the title match sweep of Leyton.
