Deborah S. Rodgers was born September 29, 1956, in North Platte, NE to Roman S. & Dorothy M. (Jasnoch) Curits. She graduated from North Platte St. Patrick High School and attended North Platte Community College before attending Kearney State College. Deb graduated from Kearney State College with a Masters of Speech Language Pathology in May of 1979. She married the love of her life, Mike Rodgers, on May 26, 1979, and they moved to Hastings. Deb worked as a Speech Language Pathologist for 40 years. She spent her professional life serving the central Nebraska community through ESU 9 and Adams Central Public School.

One of Deb’s greatest joys in life was her grandchildren. She cherished any opportunity to spend time with them and thoroughly enjoyed going to watch them at their many activities. Christmas was an extremely special time of the year for her. Some of her holiday traditions and joys included making cookies and candy, as well as buying and wrapping presents for others. She took great pleasure in listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas movies. After Christmas passed, she would always say, “Bring on Spring." She couldn’t wait for the warmer temperatures and to purchase flowers for her flower gardens. She found great pleasure in caring for her flowers in the spring and over the summer. Deb’s absolute favorite pastime was “gaming” at casinos. When at home she loved watching game shows, particularly “The Price Is Right and The Wheel of Fortune." She enjoyed vacationing to different places but especially enjoyed a vacation where she could sit on the beach or by the pool with a refreshment.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sally Ann Curtis; brother, Dorsey “Butch” Curtis; and brother-in-law, Tom Phifer.
